10 Days of 10 Years: 2012

We've made it to Year 10 on the 10-year anniversary review! You've dropped in at the opportune time, because I have many fond memories to share from...

- 2012 -

Panama City, Panama

This was the year that we discovered Panama - then a direct flight from Cayman to a tropical land that let us relax and explore without breaking the bank. Panama City was alright, but where I really fell in love was Boquete. It's now where I plan to retire. Preferably sooner rather than later.

Hiking the Lost Waterfalls

Later that year, we embarked on the trip of a lifetime: A tour of Israel - a country I'd been waiting to visit for my entire life.

In the Rosh HaNikra grottoes near Lebanon

I don't know how you take in thousands of years of history in just two weeks, but we did our best, and I soaked in as much historical and cultural goodness as I could during our visit.

On the Mount of Olives, overlooking Jerusalem

We do enjoy the travels that take us away from our day-to-day routines, but I'll still maintain that our happiest moments are usually spent in our own "backyard".  A day at the beach, digging our toes into the sand, looking out over the great expanse of the Caribbean Sea, and just quietly spending time together is enough to lower the blood pressure and unwind from the effects of public accounting and busy careers.

East End, Grand Cayman

I'm so glad I get to live in a gorgeous place with my dreamboat of a guy. I might just be the luckiest girl on earth.
