Michael's Genuine

Well, this post should have been posted about three weeks ago. NS and I had just visited Michael's Genuine Food and Drink in Camana Bay on a last-minute dinner-and-a-movie date. Because there was little forethought before our evening, I didn't have the monstrous Canon Rebel with me, so I was reduced to capturing our date with the boy's iPhone. I loved it! How freeing not to have a big fat camera strap around my neck and trying to explain how to manage a DSLR to all-too-helpful waiters.

So to stick with the non-traditional theme, I decided to write the post on our iPad, using the Blogsy app. I spent a lot of time researching apps, reading tech blogs, watching video tutorials, editing the iPhone photos using a free Photoshop app... talk about time consuming!

Then, while NS was helping me change the placement of a photo right before going live, with the swipe of a finger, the entire post was erased. No lie. I was too disheartened to do anything about it at the time, but here, finally, are the photos from our delightful meal at Michael's.

What I love about Michael's are the various size dishes they include on their menu. They have small, medium, large, and snack-sized. We stuck to the happy hour snack menu, allowing us to several little dishes.

Eggs

Deviled eggs scream summer. I can't count the number of times I've had these delicious nuggets at a summer bbq.

Mango

We selected these little toasts topped with ricotta and mango sauce upon the recommendation of our server. I could have eaten ten more. Oh my goodness; so delectable!

Jenn eating

In between our mini courses, we liked watching the expert food preparations while sitting at the food bar overlooking the open kitchen.

Brick oven

NS chose this mini angus burger. Delicious, and even better than my tuna burger.

He eats

We loved Michael's Genuine, and they proved to have one of the best sets of tapa-style food on the island. What's even better is that the chef is constantly updating the creative menu selections.

Self photo

I told the chef I'd like to try everything on the menu.

His reply: "Good luck!"

I guess that means we'll have to make a return trip sometime soon. Woot!
